12th AUGUST AT TATTON COMMUNITY CENTRE IN CHORLEY EAST
August has been another busy month over at Tatton community centre.
Starting with the BIG launch event that around 140 people attended, thank you to all of our amazing partners and volunteers who attended such as Genesis Care, We Are With You, Citizens Advice Bureau, Friends For You, Talking Tables, Healthwatch, St James Church, St Lawrences Church, KRAV club, Laughing Yoga, the local scouts, Finding Felicity’s Yoga, Jolly Totz, Rhymicality, Shimmy shakers, Ice cream man, Candyfloss gentleman. You guys ROCKED! Big thank you to Whimsy Coffee shop who we work very closely with said that they got record takings on the day and absolutely loved the event and can’t wait for more! WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
We have supported Rhymicality who have run their activity and seen the benefits to their own footfall bringing in 14 new families from Chorley East and 20 new young people in their sessions. They have also seen some of their own parents now start to use other facilities within the building such as the nursery and the continuation of some of their sessions.
Our Thursday community drop in from 1-3pm has grown from strength to strength. We have referrals from Lancashire county council bringing individuals in from adult social care teams to bring people out of isolation in Chorley East to Chorley councils social prescribers bringing learners to integrate. People can relax and enjoy being together, take part in arts and crafts, play table tennis, access online provision and we even bring in additional partners to help support the needs of the people like Citizens advice every month with Leyland and Chorley primary care network and Homestart. The group forming have even started to bring some of their favourite hobby activities in like knitting, plasticine modelling and we even have a big quiz for Chorley East.
September brings in new courses of basic life saving, introduction to life saving, basic level computer courses, Royal Society of public health Understanding health improvement award and we will be encouraging the partners we supported to continue any new provision so that people can still access their amazing services.
