Places For People
Thanks to the support of Places for People, UDevelop CIC has been able to deliver a comprehensive programme of activities across Chorley East, supporting local residents who are experiencing isolation, low confidence and barriers to engagement.
Through a person-centred approach, participants have been encouraged to reconnect with their communities, build confidence and develop new skills. The programme has provided opportunities for individuals to take part in confidence-building activities, gain accredited RSPH qualifications, improve digital skills, receive financial support and access pathways into employment, training and volunteering.
Since April, the programme has:
Delivered 40 community sessions across Chorley East.
Supported 75 people during Quarter 1 and Quarter 2.
Engaged people of all ages, including 4 young people under 24 and 4 residents aged over 65.
Helped 54 people improve their digital skills.
Supported 75 individuals into employment or training opportunities.
Enabled 40 people to move into volunteering roles.
Supported 5 people into full-time employment and 5 people into part-time jobs.
The project has created opportunities for people to overcome isolation, improve their wellbeing and develop the confidence needed to progress towards positive futures. By providing a safe and supportive environment, UDevelop and Places for People are helping residents across Chorley East to become more connected, resilient and economically active members of their community.
Together, Places for People and UDevelop CIC are creating stronger communities and empowering local people to realise their potential.
