Media Training Session - Time To Shine At Meadow View
Being in care isn't easy for any young person. Especially when all of the problems that they may of had are still in their heads as memories and have a huge impact on their day to day lives. It's hard to trust people, hard to open up and certainly hard to develop someone who is closed and introvert.
UDevelop have worked with Meadow View for the past 6 weeks and have taken these individuals on a development journey focusing on enhancing confidence, time management and general life skills through media podcasting and most of all getting them to talk positively about themselves and their interests.
During the 6 weeks there has been dynamic changes within the group and people have left and people have been added so the group have had to take on a few changes which again can be daunting to a young person.
The group have produced podcasts about themselves and the things/hobbies they like. We have looked into literacy, presenting the information in a correct format for a podcast, presentation techniques and also provided them with a portfolio of their work which will include all of their written work which can be submitted for their English units and development progress reports. We will be providing them all with a finished CD's of all of their work to keep so that can show friends/carers/guardians.
Congratulations to all of the wonderful young people at Meadow View!!!
