Listen UP is a fully funded confidence building programme that explores and visualises into the future and provides a learner with a fun, interactive experience that can be life changing!

The first week covered visual boards. We broke the ice with a question and answer session which was ideal to get to know people. We also produced some vision boards from including our favourites, hobbies, future aspirations and goals.

“I enjoyed the first session because it was different and you were involved. From the start we were gaining new skills and developing forward thinking attitude.”

The next week we worked together and learnt how to produce a promotional trail. We created a mind map about chorley and then took part from the board and created a script. We were then provided a part each to read out. We then practised and started to work as team to produce the finished promotional trail.

Week 3 we planned our own goals and learnt about SMART. We ran the goal setting session to provide us with some achievable goals that would inspire and encourage us.

“I think that goal setting motivates you and it has actually spurred me on to start to get on top of the house and have a cleaner approach to life”

Week 4 we created our ideas list to what improves our mental health and coping mechanisms in which we all participated in. From the start we created a script from the ideas board and started to create a coping mechanism promo trail. This was recored and put on to a CD and each designed a cover that reflected our own personality.

In Week 5 we have seen how far we have come and we have all improved ourselves and have improved our confidence within the group. We have created a blog to tell others what we have done each week and the difference it has made to each of us. It is great as a group we have bonded and made friends.
